- Wash and soak basmati rice. Keep aside..
- Soak chickpeas overnight. Boil till soft. Drain and keep aside..
- In a bowl take all the ingredients of marination.Mix..
- Add boiled chickpeas,mix and keep in fridge for 30 minutes..
- Heat oil in a vessel.Fry sliced onion till golden brown.Take out and keep aside..
- Add whole spices in the remaining oil.Saute for 1 minute..
- Add marinated chickpeas,mix.Add salt and tomato cut into 4 pieces..
- Cover the vessel and cook on medium -low flame for 3-4minutes..
- After 3-4 minutes open the lid and add basmati rice,mix well.Add whole green chillies..
- Add 3 cups hot water,cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes..
- After 3 minutes stir once the rice,cover the lid and lower the flame.And further cook till rice is soft.It will take 4-5minutes..
- Open the lid,stir gently the pulao.Put off the flame..
- Cover and lid and leave for 5 minutes.Now kabuli chana pulao is ready to serve..
